As strange as it may sound DIS had a production of surgical nails from 1939 to approximately 1945.
This little known area of production has been described in a recent article in the journal: Dansk Medicinhistorisk Årbog.

The article explores the invention and introduction of surgical pins as common treatment. Materials and reason of DIS as choice of factory are also touched upon.
