In an earlier blog post I showed a picture of Lieutenant Colonel Troels-Smith representing DIS in Yugoslavia. Let’s take a look at what actually happened and find out if DIS was successfully promoting their merchandise. This is the last blog post in the Yugoslavia series. All in all we can conclude that the best available information tells us:
Representatives for DIS in Yugoslavia were:
- 1930 Colonel Krstitch
- 1931 General Jovićić – later passed on to his son
- Dragos Jovitćić
(these two men are also mentioned: Seracević and Vojnović ) - 1952 Banque Yougoslave d’Exportation & de Credit
Delivered to Yugoslavia
- 12 November 1942 – 400 light machine guns
- 1 March 1944 – 30 gun mounts and 30 mounts for motor cycles
- 31 March 1944 – 200 light machine guns
Ordered – but order cancelled
In 1944 Yugoslavia ordered 35 20mm machine cannons but due to payment issues and the war ending they were not delivered.
